Your Palette

Part of learning the painting process is being organized in as many ways as we can. Being organized helps us paint more quickly. The quicker we are able to paint the larger body of work we are able to create. The more we paint, the more problems we are able to solve because, bottom line, we as painters are problem solvers.

The Block In

The Block-In serves as the bedrock of your artwork, shaping the value structure, color scheme, and composition. As you apply those initial brushstrokes and forms, you’re building the platform for your painting to unfold. With every intentional stroke, the beauty and harmony of your painting begin to emerge. This stage is undeniably crucial in the creative journey, as it lays the groundwork for your artistic vision to spring to life.

Adjustments

The adjustment phase is where the magic truly happens. It’s the stage where you fine-tune every aspect of your painting, from values to color and proportions, ensuring that every element harmonizes seamlessly. This meticulous process allows you to transform a good piece of art into something extraordinary.
